The Mahaska County Community Foundation

are tax -exempt public charities serving people who share a common concern - that of improving the quality of life in their geographic area. They are much like a private foundation in purpose but with funds derived from may donors rather than a single source. The idea is simple: Anyone may use it to give something back to the community. Individuals, families, businesses, and organizations create permanent charitable funds that help communities and organizations meet the challenges of changing times. The foundation invests and administers these funds. MCCF does more than simply distribute grants that advance charitable activities. It also identifies current and emerging issues, distributing resources to address those needs and helps Mahaska County prepare for the future. Affiliation with GDMCF and ICAN combines the benefits of local, grassroots leadership with the extensive experience of financial and administrative professionals.
